Meet Dan and Erin, the new Kempe Foundation interns

The Kempe Foundation is proud to welcome two interns to the Kempe offices who join us from Metro State University and The Hart Center for Public Service. Engaging with the community is one of the Kempe Foundation pillars, which includes supporting community groups, partnering with businesses, joining together with similar nonprofit organizations and getting involved with local universities. Dan will serve as the Community Engagement Intern and Erin will serve as the Fundraising Events intern.

Hey all, my name is Dan, and I am proud to be a native of Colorado. I haven’t been here the whole time, though; I spent a few years walking and riding a bicycle around the United States before deciding to go to school. By far, my favorite leg of the journey was exploring the Redwood Forest. I now attend MSU Denver, where I study Cybersecurity, with minors in legal and leadership studies and public administration. I am just about halfway through my undergraduate, but will be attending law school after that. I am a rockhound; I enjoy mining gems and minerals and reading books for fun. I am excited to join the Kempe family as an intern because I believe in the mission and know how important protecting future generations is for us all. I am glad to be part of The Kempe Foundation.

My name is Erin Pahl. I am a New York native. I moved to Colorado to start my educational experience in 2019. I am currently a junior at Metropolitan State University of Denver pursuing an undergraduate degree in social work. After graduation I want to work in the child welfare system and crisis intervention. The Kempe Foundations core value and mission mentally spoke to me. The Kempe Foundation is a great fit for me because of my passion for the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. The Foundation’s work makes an enormous difference in the lives of children and families. I am so fortunate and honored to be a part of the amazing work done with Kempe. I am confident the Kempe foundation will allow me to gain an incredible experience in the field of social work and child abuse. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, skiing, rock climbing and spending time with my family.

Let’s welcome Dan Giles and Erin Paul to The Kempe Foundation. Good luck with your time at Kempe!
