Can you provide your top tips for businesses or individuals seeking to increase their social media imprint?
* Show up and show up often. Quality can come later, what is important on social is consistency. It doesn’t have to have graphics, just focus on posting once a day and then up the ante from there.
* Value, value, value, then sell. Focus on providing value to your followers (tips, entertainment, curated content), then sell to them. 90% of people are on social media to feel and be entertained, not sold to.
* Look at the data. Once you’ve gathered some content and have a few followers, look at what the analytics are telling you.
Describe to us how you see the future in social media changing in upcoming years?
With the rise of TikTok and short-form video, I believe attention spans will get lower and lower. This means that shorter, to-the-point content will do better on social media. Along with this, posts and videos will have to be interactive. People respond better to videos that end with questions or gamified graphics.
Another trend I see popping up is authenticity on social media. Long gone are the days of unattainable lives and images, instead, influencers who mini vlog about being late to work are on the rise. New social platforms (e.g. BeReal) have started entering the market, proving further that it is not hard to get a social media presence. Simply be yourself and be authentic.
