This Thanksgiving, the Kempe Foundation would like to thank our impactful sponsors and corporate partners. The Driven to Care program was founded in 2005 thanks to the generosity and vision of Mr. and Mrs. Halle, who wanted to give back in a meaningful way to the people and places that support Discount Tire. Funded by regional tire sales, the program makes grant monies available to the wives of Discount Tire’s Regional Vice Presidents and Assistant Vice Presidents. These dedicated and passionate women, Driven to Care Ambassadors, volunteer their time to research important local issues and give to charitable organizations that make a difference in their local communities. These grants improve the quality of lives in the Discount Tire regions across the country, addressing important needs such as homelessness, hunger, and children’s health and welfare issues.

The Kempe Foundation is honored to receive a generous donation from Driven to Care for the Kids in Care Settings Clinic. In May 2023, Kempe launched the launched the Kids In Care Settings (KICS) clinic for children ages 0-18 in partnership with Children’s Hospital of Colorado, Arapahoe County Department of Human Services and Colorado Hospital Substance Exposed Newborn Quality Improvement Collaborative (CHoSEN QIC). The KICS care model is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, focuses on both biological families as well as foster and kinship families and is committed to health equity. The clinic focuses on timely access to primary care, mental behavioral health, and dental health services. The clinic provides integrated mental and behavioral health, physical health and related coordination and navigation, all of which are critical in meeting the healthcare needs for children whom who are under the state’s care.
This year, we’re thankful for Driven to Care and Discount Tire for your support in ensuring that more children and families have a healthier, safer, more nurturing future.
